Betty Jeaneane Chappell, daughter of Russell and Bertha Niemann McConnell, was born on October 19, 1933. She departed this life peacefully on February 11, 2010 at 76 years of age.
Jeaneane spent her life in Appleton City, Missouri. She became a member of the First Christian Church as a child and in recent years had continued to be an active member.
As a young adult, Jeaneane worked for Wells Irving Motors in Appleton City and helped build and run a green house with her mother-in-law, Bessie Chappell, and sister-in-law, Mopey Tindall. Prior to her retirement, she was a homemaker and helped co-run the AC Hardware from 1969 through 1989 with her husband, Richard, and Raymond and Betty Todd. She was an active member of the AC Library Board the AC Cemetery Board.
Jeaneane was a very creative person, loving to paint, carve and paint ducks and make baskets. She and Richard also spent as much time as they could camping at Branson.
Jeaneane was united in marriage to Richard Chappell on January 9, 1954. To this union three children were born, John Russell, Janea Remae and Julee Kay.
Jeaneane was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard and one brother, Merle McConnell. Survivors include her son, John and wife Sandy of Sedalia, Missouri, and daughters, Janea of Olathe, Kansas and Julee and husband Danny Snyder of Appleton City. Also surviving are twin sisters, Iola Varns of Peculiar, Missouri and Viola Johnson of Kearney, Missouri; brother Harold McConnell of Sebastian, Florida; and numerous cousins.
Jeaneane is much loved by her family and many, many friends. She was a fun-loving, caring person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
