Janice Marie Johannigmeier, 70, daughter of Lester D. and Marie F. (Herrman) Bowles, was born October 6, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life March 20, 2012 in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
The Bowles family moved to Appleton City when Janice was in the 7th grade and she graduated from Appleton City High School with the class of 1959. She attended one year of college at Southwestern Missouri University in Springfield before marrying Truman Johannigmeier on June 25, 1960 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Appleton City. They were blessed with two daughters, Pam and Paula. In 1964 the family moved to Lee's Summit. In 2008 Janice and Truman retired to Clinton, Missouri.
During her life Janice had worked as a surgical nurse and most recently she was employed as a home health nurse manager. She was a faithful member of Clinton United Methodist Church. Janice was an avid reader and enjoyed watching HGTV. She had begun playing piano during early childhood and her love of music was evident throughout her life. Her family was of the utmost importance to her and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Truman; their two daughters, Pam Pulse and Paula Eden; six grandchildren: Drew Diekmann, Allison Reed, Kathryn Pulse, Elizabeth Pulse, Alexander Eden and Austin Eden; six siblings: Carolyn Butts, Roger Bowles, Mike Bowles, Leslie Lerner, Susan Radzis and Janie Bowles; numerous nieces and nephews.
