James Elton "Jay" Dunlap, son of James Albert and Bonnie Sue (Dixon) Dunlap, was born on the family farm June 14, 1938 in Montrose, Missouri. He passed away quietly at his home in Montrose March 16, 2010 at 71 years of age after a battle with lung cancer.
Jay spent most of his life in the Montrose area living for awhile in Clinton, Missouri. He owned and operated Dunlap Trash Hauling for many years. He also enjoyed blacksmithing along with his trash service. Jay liked people and cherished the relationships that developed with his customers, as many also became his friends. Jay had quite a sense of humor which was still present even up to the last hours of his life. During his lifetime Jay had been a member of Teay's Chapel Church, Bear Creek Church and Ladue Methodist Church until each had closed. He also had attended Ohio Christian Church.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by one brother Gordon Albert Dunlap of Prairie Village, Kansas, several other relatives, and a host of friends.
