A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held for Mr. Brown at Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.


OFFICIANT will be John Knox.


VISITATION will be held at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. prior to the graveside service.

James Clinton "Jim" Brown, 82, of Liberal, Missouri departed this earthly life on May 8th, 2016. Jim was born on April 20th, 1934 to Wiley Loren Brown and Maude Belle (McCann) Brown in Stockton, Kansas. He grew up in the midst of the Great Depression and Dust Bowl Era of Kansas, both of which gave him a lifelong independent, inventive and pioneering spirit.

Jim was united in marriage to Margie Kathaleen Lemmons on August 26, 1960 in Grain Valley, Missouri. To this union one daughter was born.
Jim was an accomplished and talented musician who played numerous instruments and instilled that love of music in his grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Margie. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and John Knox of Liberal, Missouri; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
