Obituary

The GRAVESIDE SERVICE for Mrs. Rapp will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Appleton City Cemetery.

The MINISTER will be Pastor Ron Beaton.

A VISITATION will be held from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. before the service on Friday at Hill & Son Funeral Home in Appleton City.

The family suggest any MEMORIAL contributions be made to the Appleton City Cemetery.

Helen Irene Rapp, 98, formerly of Appleton City and Rockville, Missouri passed away on May 1, 2015 in Tucson, Arizona.

Helen was born on December 27, 1916 in Montrose, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Oscar Albert Mannen and Viola (Campbell) Mannen. On February 12, 1936 she married Edwin Griggs Rapp of Rockville, Missouri.

Helen was a graduate of Montrose High School. After marriage she and her husband resided in Rockville, Missouri until 1956 when they moved to Appleton City, Missouri. She worked at the Appleton City Clinic while living in Appleton City.

In 1966 they moved to Independence, Missouri and she was employed at J. C. Penney until her first retirement and they moved to Sweet Springs, Missouri. In 1988 she moved to Tucson Arizona where she came out of retirement and worked for Big Lots until failing health forced her to retire again at the age of 88. Her later years were spent at Devon Gables Rehabilitation Center in Tucson, Arizona.

Helen is survived by one daughter, Sandra Kay (Rapp) Borland and husband Terry of Tucson, Arizona; one son, Gary Lynn Rapp and wife Ilene of Sweet Springs, Missouri; one granddaughter, Denise Shea of Tucson, Arizona; two grandsons, G. L. Rapp of Sedalia, Missouri and Trevis Rapp of Sweet Springs, Missouri and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one great-granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn Rapp.
