Helen Marie Paris, daughter of Harry Frances and Anna Elizabeth (Brown) Allen, Sr., was born in Independence, Missouri January 9, 1925. She departed this life at Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City, Missouri on December 25, 2010 in the presence of her loving family.
Helen spent the early part of her life in Independence. She was united in marriage to Namon Reed Paris April 12, 1941 and they were blessed with one daughter, Ann Marie. Helen was employed by General Motors and worked at the Fisher Body Plant in the Leeds District until her retirement. She was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 93. In 1966 Helen and Namon retired and made their home in Appleton City. Her family was more important to her than anything and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When her granddaughters were old enough, she liked planning and taking trips with them. Helen and Namon also enjoyed traveling and staying in their RV; for several years they spent winter months in McAllen, Texas. Helen liked hunting mushrooms and fishing. She especially enjoyed catfishing at their stocked pond and snaggin' spoonbill. Her favorite saying was, "Been there, done that."
Preceding Helen in death were her parents; her husband Namon R. Paris; two sisters, a twin, Ellen "Nellie" Luther and MaryAnn Babylon; four brothers, Harry F. Allen, Jr., William Allen, Charles Allen and James Allen. Survivors include her daughter Ann Marie and husband Jack Knight of Appleton City; two granddaughters, Cathy and husband Chris Thompson and Karen and husband Chris Green all of Appleton City; two great-granddaughters, Amy Green and fiancé Jeff Nold of Urich, Missouri, Nichole Marie and husband Straton Munsterman; two great-grandsons, Brandon Thompson and companion Dusti Hall, and Brian Green all of Appleton City; three great-great-grandchildren, Braydon, Austin and Kaylean Marie Nold of Urich, Missouri; and one sister Theresa Rose Spillman of Lincoln, Missouri.
Helen loved to live, love, dance and have fun! She would be sad if you don't do the "Same".
