A GRAVESIDE SERVICE for Harold will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday September 17, 2018 at Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri.

OFFICIATING at the service will be Pastor David Herald.

The family suggests any MEMORIAL donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Harold "Cotton" Kreissler passed away peacefully at the Appleton City Manor in Appleton City, Missouri, on September 13, 2018.  The son of Gus A. and Dora Louise Echoff  Kreissler-Brixey was born on May 31, 1928 in Appleton City, Missouri.  He then attended the Appleton City School District.  Upon completing his education, Harold married Mary Ann McNamara on October 3, 1958, his wife of 60 years.  They raised 2 children: Jim and Jerry. They lived in the Kansas City area most of their life, until their retirement when they moved to Arizona. They then returned to Missouri, residing in the Appleton City and Clinton areas.

Harold learned to work at an early age; he worked at Yoss Brothers Grocery, and then bought himself a power lawn mower and mowed lawns for a few years.  He and his brother Edward operated Kreissler Dairy in Appleton City for several years.  Harold learned the printing trade while working at the Appleton City Journal and it became his life's career.  He and Mary Ann also successfully operated a print shop in Carrolton, Missouri and had a wedding stationary business for many years that had customers worldwide.  He was truly a perfectionist in his work.

Everyone that knew Harold knew that he was an avid photographer and loved to share photos with friends and family.  Many of them received photographic documentation of events in their lives, weddings, family reunions and the like.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Dora Kreissler; his wife, Mary Ann; along with two brothers: Eldor and Edward Kreissler.

Harold is survived by his sons: Jim Burns and wife Irene, and Jerry Burns; sisters: Elsie Williams, Dee Fuelling, and Iola Rapp; one brother, John Kreisser; grandchildren: Mick Burns, Nicole Young and husband Jason, Michael and wife Lisa Burns, Rachael Epperson and husband Billy Inks; great-grandchildren: Roman Young, Brendyen Grisham, and Carly and husband Justin Hudson, and Donna Halcome; and great-great-grandson, Thomas Halcome; along with many great friends.  He will be deeply missed.
