Gladys Marie Snodgrass, daughter of David and Mary Elizabeth (Crist) Foster, was born in Bates County, Missouri November 8, 1918. She departed this life August 3, 2007 at Cass Medical Center in Harrisonville, Missouri at 88 years of age.
In addition to Pleasant Gap, Gladys lived in Spruce, Missouri, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Appleton City, Missouri throughout her life. She was united in marriage with Delbert Snodgrass June 20, 1936 and to this union three children were born. Mrs. Snodgrass was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church in rural Appleton City and had lived a Christ centered life. She loved her family and those she met unconditionally. She worked tirelessly as a wife, mother and friend. She was a wonderful cook for her family as well as cooking in a restaurant outside her home. Gladys enjoyed sewing and quilting, and also liked flowers and gardening.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a granddaughter Cindy Snodgrass, and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include her children, Don Snodgrass and wife Evadine of Butler, Missouri, Freda and husband David Barbour of Worchester, England, and Fern Merryfield of Appleton City, Missouri; two sisters-in law, Edna Foster of Harrisonville, Missouri and Ann Jalene Snodgrass of Appleton City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Debbie Colin, Vickie Young, Sherrie Snodgrass, Brian Farley, Scott Paxton and Tina Roberts; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
