Billy Gene Parks was born August 19, 1930 in St. Clair County, Missouri to John and Nina Nichols Parks. He departed this life on October 12, 2011 in his home. He was united in marriage to Laudene Swopes on January 13, 1951.
Gene served his country in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After his time in the military he returned to St. Clair County where he farmed all his life. Gene also served with the Taberville fire department for over 25 years.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents John and Nina Parks and a brother Willbur Lynn Parks.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Laudene Parks; three sons, Ronnie and wife Kristine Parks of Appleton City, Johnny and wife Cindy Parks, Bob and wife Donna Parks, Patty and husband Orville Oehring, Sandra and husband Darrel Siegismund all of Rockville and Vickie and husband Cody Rhinehart of Knob Noster; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great–grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Craig and Merlene Hamilton of Norborne, Vera Schacher of Harrisonville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gene was a fun loving, kind and caring husband, father and grandfather. He was well liked and respected by all who knew him. His favorite pass time was hunting, fishing and playing Carron and Pitch with family and friends.
