The FUNERAL SERVICE for Mrs. Gurley will be held at
Hill and Son Funeral Home in
Appleton City, Missouri on
Thursday, March 7, 2013 at
2:00 p.m.

The MINISTER will be
Reverend Alan Black.

VISITATION will be held a hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

INTERMENT will be in
Lowry City Cemetery,
Lowry City, Missouri.

Fern Lucille Gurley was born December 31, 1922 to Elmer and Icel (Wilson) Brent and passed away at her home, March 2, 2013.

Fern spent her early childhood in Hickory County before she and her family moved to rural Appleton City, Missouri. Fern was united in marriage on March 8, 1941 to Harold Gurley. Fern and Harold spent their entire married life on their farm in the Ohio community. After Harold passed away, Fern moved to Appleton City where she lived until her death.

Fern was baptized into the Ohio Christian Church where she was a faithful, life-long member. Fern taught Sunday school for 32 years and enjoyed teaching the congregation Bible lessons. Fern enjoyed reading her Bible daily and spending time with her family and friends.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Harold; her sister Helen Brent-Johnson; and grandson Kenny Gurley.

Survivors include her daughter, Regina Roberts and husband Ollie of Rockville, Missouri; her son, Kenneth Gurley and wife Judy of Lowry City, Missouri; a nephew, Clifford Johnson and wife Carol of Appleton City; six grandsons: Craig Roberts and wife Tina, Kevin Roberts and fiancée Alison Vavra, Lanny Gurley, Bryan Gurley, Jeramie Gurley and companion Jennifer Petrey, and Chris Gurley and companion Celeen Salazar; two great-nephews; 16 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; several cousins and many friends.
