FUNERAL MASS for Mr. Rotert will be held at
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in
Montrose, Missouri on
Saturday, March 23, 2013 at
11:00 a.m.

The OFFICIANT will be
Father Tom Hermes.

VISITATION/ROSARY will be held at the church preceding the service on
Saturday, March 23, 2013 with
VISITATION from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. then the
ROSARY will be said at 10:30 a.m.

INTERMENT will be in
St. Ludger's Cemetery,
Germantown, Missouri.

The family suggests MEMORIAL donations to the
St. Ludger's Historical Society or
St. Mary's School Educational Fund.

Everett Rotert was born October 23, 1929 in rural Germantown, MO. He was a lifelong resident of the Germantown/Montrose area. He departed this life on March 19, 2013 at the age of 83 after enduring the effects of Alzheimer's.

Everett attended St. Mary's grade school in Montrose, MO, but was unable to attend high school because of the premature death of his father. He served in the Missouri National Guard and was an award winning sharpshooter.

Everett was united in marriage to Ruth Schnoebelen on April 24, 1954. Five sons and four daughters blessed this union. They lived on the family farm in Germantown until moving to Montrose upon retirement. Their home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay.

Everett worked hard to provide for his family, being both a truck driver for 49 years and also a lifelong farmer. He taught his children the value of hard work by example. He was a self taught mechanic, driving his last truck over two and a half million miles. He also taught his children to be self sufficient, requiring that each child be able to change a tire and check the oil before being allowed to test for a driver's license.

Everett enjoyed family, friends, good conversation, and storytelling. He was a member of St. Ludgers Catholic Church at Germantown, MO, and later in life he joined the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose, MO. He was a third degree honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus.

Everett is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Mary (Tenholder) Rotert. Although technically an only child, he considered Lester Reiling to be his brother since he moved in with the family during the Depression.

Everett is survived by wife, Ruth of the home; children: Roger Rotert, Nevada, MO, Ronald Rotert, Appleton City, MO, Duane Rotert and Jenay, Montrose, MO, Kevin Rotert and Karen, Liberty, MO, Linda McCulley and John, Grand Junction, CO, Denise Rotert and friend Terry, Independence, MO, Phyllis Gardner and Ryan, Lone Jack, MO, Donna Bauerle and Mark, Cleveland, MO, and Mark Rotert, Montrose, MO; grandchildren: Leroy, Adam, Elliott, Emily, Garrett, Jeff, Jesse, Mackenzie, and Nichole, and great-grandchildren: Mark and Annabelle.
