VISITATION between 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. and the
ROSARY will be said at 7:30 p.m.

INTERMENT will be in
St. Mary's Cemetery,
Montrose, Missouri

Elizabeth Katherine "Bettie" Rotert, 79, daughter of George Fredrick and Helen Ann (Swaters) Gengler, was born November 14, 1933 in Cawker City, Kansas. She passed away at the Medicalodge in Butler, Missouri November 26, 2012.

Bettie's family moved to a farm north of Montrose when she was 14. Following graduation from Montrose High School in 1951, she began classes at St. Teresa's Academy of Nursing in Kansas City to become a registered nurse. After receiving her degree, Bettie and John Edward Rotert were married August 18, 1956 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose. They moved to Columbia, Missouri and enrolled at the University of Missouri studying cattle breeding. Bettie also worked part time as a nurse at the university hospital. After three years of study Bettie and John bought a farm at Germantown, Missouri where they started their successful cattle business with only four Angus cows. Throughout her life, Bettie also worked as an R.N. for the Sac-Osage Hospital at Osceola, Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City, Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler and St. Clair County Home Health until her retirement. She enjoyed herb and vegetable gardening and cooking. Bettie loved her family very much and especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.

Preceding Bettie in death were her parents, her husband, one brother, Jim Gengler and a brother-in-law, Cecil Cook. Survivors include: her three sons, George Rotert and wife Anne, John Rotert and Paul Rotert and companion Anglyn; seven grandchildren, Angela, Brandon, Cayla, Nathan, Jacob, Nathan and Benjamin; one great-granddaughter, Kalea; two sisters, Alice Cook and Ann Sturm and husband Ernie; a sister-in-law, Kathy Gengler; two brothers-in-law, Father Norman Rotert and Phillip Rotert and wife Jean; a sister-in-law, Teresa Kempfe and husband Gordon; many nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.
