Eileen M. Strope, daughter of Joseph and Mary Volmer, was born December 8, 1922 near Montrose, Missouri. She passed away at Appleton City Manor in Appleton City, Missouri Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 87 years of age.
Eileen was born on the family farm and lived there almost her entire life. She was united in marriage to Victor A. Strope and to this union two sons were born. Eileen loved her family and was a wonderful cook. Her happiest hours were spent preparing meals for them and sitting around the table. She also had a little Rat Terrier, Jenny, she was very fond of. Eileen was involved in a dairy operation with her brother most of her adult life. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose.
Preceding Eileen in death were her parents, her husband, one sister and two brothers. Survivors include her two sons, Larry J. Strope and wife Karen of Montrose, Missouri and Jim Strope and wife Marlyn of Grain Valley, Missouri; two granddaughters, Kim and husband Jeff Bogue of Liberty, Missouri and Sherry Fajen of Mustang, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Adam Dills of Independence, Missouri, Shaun Hall and wife Jean of Columbia, Missouri and Terry Hall and wife Trish of Independence, Missouri; and numerous other relatives.
