John Edward "Ed" Dunham, son of Lewis Herbert and Ruby Lee (Keeton) Dunham, was born October 16, 1929 on the family farm in St. Clair County, Missouri near Monegaw Springs. He attended a country school in that area for several years. On September 2, 1950 Ed married his wife of 60 years, Clara Irene Strickler, at the courthouse in Bentonville, Arkansas. They were blessed with two daughters. They lived in Taberville for a year and Rockville for a year before moving to Appleton City, Missouri where they have resided since. Ed worked as an auto mechanic in a service station in Rockville for two years then for Fennimore Motors in Appleton City until he and Clara bought the garage and called it "Ed's". He owned and operated his garage until his retirement in 1998.

Ed was an avid outdoorsman, loving to quail hunt, fish for Crappie and Channel Cat and later deer hunt. He also loved to hunt mushrooms in the spring. Ed was quick witted and quite a jokester, playing jokes on his family and friends was just expected.

Preceding Ed in death were his parents, one sister Dorothy Bernice Dunham who died at age 13, two brothers, James Lewis Dunham and Albert Lee Dunham, and one grandson Michael Ryan Gilmore. Survivors include his wife Clara of the home; two daughters, Terry and husband Jerry Welch of Sedalia, Missouri and Susan Null of Odessa, Missouri; four grandchildren, Stephen Ratliff of Sedalia, Jaime and husband Russell Stewart of Sedalia, Lori and husband Keith Weaver of Grain Valley, Missouri and Codey Null of Odessa; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica, Hannah, Harley, Gage, Madison and Gavin. Ed was loved very much by his family and will be greatly missed.
