Dixie Dean (Watts) Zink, age 92, the daughter of Lare and Pauline (Tucker) Watts was born August 7, 1927.  She passed away peacefully on January 22, 2020 at the Butterfield Residential Care Center in Bolivar, Missouri.

She was born in Boonville, Missouri, and spent her formative years in Appleton City, Missouri, where she graduated from high school in 1944. She then attended Southwest Baptist College, and later beauty school in Kansas City. During this time, she met and married Wilbur Zink on August 2, 1946. Dixie and Wilbur's lives were fulfilled when they became the parents of two adopted children: Susan and David. They raised their family in Appleton City where she worked as a beautician for many years.

Dixie was a dedicated mother and wife, who loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to Arizona with Wilbur, where they wintered for many years. Additionally, Dixie was a wonderful cook and seamstress, who loved piecing and hand stitching numerous quilts. Along with this, she spent many hours serving the First Christian Church in Appleton City, where she remained an active member until she moved to Springfield with Wilbur. She was also a dedicated member of the PEO for more than 50 years. Dixie will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Allen Zink; her parents, Lare and Pauline (Tucker) Watts; her sister, Edna Mae Dark; and one brother, Sam Watts.

Dixie is survived by her children: Susan Cooper of Bolivar, MO and David (Cindy) Zink of Raymore, MO; grandchildren: Lauren and Lindsay Cooper, and Anna Zink; along with many extended family and good friends.
