David Walter Foster, son of the late John F. and Leotta M. (Little) Foster, was born March 27, 1936 in Bates County, Missouri. He passed away at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler, Missouri October 7, 2006 at 70 years of age.
"Dub", as his friends called him, had lived in the Montrose community all of his life. He and Wilma May Rice were united in marriage March 30, 1957 at the Christian Church in Appleton City, Missouri and to this union three children were born. Mr. Foster was employed by the Missouri State Highway Department for 27 years. He was a member of the Henry County Sheriff's Posse and the Montrose United Presbyterian-Methodist Church. Dub enjoyed coaching and playing baseball and softball while his children were growing up. He also liked quail hunting, horseback riding and spoiling his horse, Trixie.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma of the home; his three children, Richard E. "Rick" Foster, Gwen Klass and husband Randy and David L. Foster all of Montrose, Missouri; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; eight siblings, Leroy Foster of Butler, Missouri, Etta Mae Roberts of Kansas City, Missouri, Mary Houston of Montrose, Missouri, John Foster of Warsaw, Missouri, Cliff Foster of Montrose, Missouri, Harold Foster of Adrian, Missouri, Charles Foster of Independence, Missouri and Rhonda Morris of Butler, Missouri; many nieces and nephews.
