A MEMORIAL
GRAVESIDE SERVICE is planned at the
Appleton City Cemetery on
Monday, September 16, 2013 at
11:00 a.m.

The family suggests memorial gifts be given to the
Appleton City Museum.

Colleen Caroline Parker, 82, daughter of Frances and Stella (Bartz) Gench, was born April 1, 1931 in Clinton, Missouri. She passed away September 10, 2013 in Independence, Missouri.

Colleen grew up in Rockville, Missouri where she attended grade school and graduated from high school. Following graduation she went to business college and then went to work for Miles Lumber Company in Kansas City. She soon changed jobs becoming a bookkeeper for Sutherland Lumber Company where she worked until her retirement. Colleen was married to Howard Parker and they made their home in Grandview, Missouri for many years, retiring to Foxwood in Raymore, Missouri later in their lives.

Colleen loved gardening, raising vegetables and flowers. She also liked animals, adopting many cats and dogs during her lifetime and giving them a good home.

Survivors include her husband, Howard of the home; a niece and nephew, Kathy and Matt Atherton; cousins, Rozella Caldwell, Leola Jagels, Ella Cumpton,Wilma Dodds and June Wheatley.
