MEMORIAL
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church

Cletus Aloysius Schallert, son of the late Gottlieb and Agnes (Dampf) Schallert, was born in Montrose, Missouri May 6, 1925 and passed away August 25, 2007 at 82 years of age.
"Clip" as his friends called him, had lived in the Montrose community all his life except during World War II for two years. He attended St. Mary's School and while attending high school he worked at Hakes Drug Store. During World War II he was an infantry soldier with Patton's 3rd Army from 1944 through 1946 and was awarded three Bronze Stars and the Combat Infantry Badge. During this time he was partially disabled. Clip returned from the war and worked for the U.S. Postal department as a clerk for two years and then a rural mail carrier for 35 years. He also farmed, raising registered Charolais cattle for 25 years. He was well liked and a friend to all.
Preceding him in death were his brothers, Bernard and Maurice Schallert and a sister Magdaline. Clip is survived by his wife Waneta of the home; two step-sons, Dennis Radford of Montrose, Missouri and Ronald Radford of Nevada, Missouri; one brother Larry Schallert of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sisters, Patricia Cook of Kansas City, Missouri and Alvina Linenberger of Deepwater, Missouri; many nieces and nephews.
