Obituary

Cindy Kay Havens (nee Hamilton) was born to Jim and Doris Hamilton on January 27, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, and passed away peacefully on February 13, 2023, in Appleton City, Missouri after a lengthy illness.


She became a Christian as a young child attending Rockwood Baptist Church in Independence, Missouri. Cindy was a 1972 graduate of Van Horn High School in Independence, Missouri. Following graduation Cindy worked at various jobs before finding her purpose at Appleton City Manor as a Certified Medication Technician.


She was preceded in death by her parents. Left behind and missing her are her daughter, Jennifer Havens, and granddaughter, Abbe, of Independence, Missouri. She is also survived by her sisters, Sherry Finkelstein and her husband, David, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Tracey Martin and her husband, Eric, of Gower, Missouri, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Cindy was a free spirit who always chose to live life her way. She was funny and loved to have a good time. She loved chocolate ice cream, candy and Elvis. Though she is gone, we will all carry her in our hearts.


Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri, on Tuesday, February 21 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund at heartlandhospicefund.org.
