Cecil Clemence Vogel, son of Frank and Louise (Cook) Vogel, was born October 27, 1920 in Germantown, Missouri. He departed this life April 6, 2008 at Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola, Missouri.
Cecil lived his life in Montrose, Missouri. After serving in World War II he ran two local businesses, a feed store and a grocery store. Vogel's Grocery was in business for 23 years before closing in 1973. Cecil then worked as a conservation agent for the Montrose Wildlife Area until his retirement. Mr. Vogel was a member of the Montrose VFW Post 8820 and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Cecil and Freda Marie Goth were united in marriage January 8, 1947 at St. Ludger's Catholic Church in Germantown, Missouri and to this union five children were born.
Preceding Cecil in death were his parents, two children, Norman and Louise who died at birth; a grandson, Dean Schmedding and a granddaughter Karla Bauer; four brothers, Erwin, Eugene, Marcellus and Paul and two sisters, Rita Strope and Mary Ellen Jurgensmeyer. Survivors include his wife, Marie; three children, Juanita and husband Jerry Schmedding, Joanne and husband Rick Bauer and Larry Vogel; his grandchildren, Bill Schmedding, Barry Schmedding and wife Juli, Gregg Schmedding and wife Nicole, Ann Schmedding and fiancé Thomas Struchtemeyer, Mark Bauer and Kelly Bauer; five great-grandchildren, Jack, Jade, Jimmie, Luke and Grace Schmedding; two brothers, Raymond and Robert and wife Charlotte; a sister Betty and husband Bob Kniffin; three sisters-in-law, Beatrice Vogel, Mary Vogel and Jane Vogel; and a host of nieces and nephews.
