The Memorial Graveside Service originally scheduled to be held at the Appleton City Cemetery on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. for Mrs. Beverly Schallert (who passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015) and her husband, Mr. Lawrence "Larry" Schallert (who passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015) has been changed to be held at the Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City . The family will be leading the service and be visiting with relatives and friends at that time.

Beverly June Schallert, 81, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at her home after a lengthy illness. She leaves behind five children, 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her children are Marcia Austin, Dale, Don, Greg and Gary Schallert. She is also survived by her brother Elton Lee Carter. Her husband Lawrence Schallert preceded her in death by four days.

Born in Monegaw Springs, Missouri on July 11, 1933, Beverly was raised in Appleton City. She was a homemaker for most of her life, raising the family in Kansas, Florida and New Mexico. She earned an Associate Degree at St. Petersburg Junior College while living in Florida. In her spare time Beverly ran her own southwest jewelry business and volunteered for leadership positions in her children's school activities and in the Democratic National Committee on the local, state and national stages.

Beverly felt passionately about the environment, the arts and politics. She was an avid reader, a historian and a bird watcher.
