Beverly Jo Belew, daughter of Oscar and Faye Eckhoff, was born on April 2, 1933. She departed this life on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at home with her family around her. Beverly was 76 years old.
Beverly spent most of her life in Appleton City, Missouri. She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since a young child. The church was always an important part of her life. Her strong faith was always a comfort to her, especially during her last years.
As a young adult, Beverly worked for Ellett Memorial Hospital. After the death of her mother she worked with her father running the Eckhoff Funeral Home. Prior to her retirement, she worked for the Appleton City Clinic and Head Start. She was an active board member of the Appleton City Library and the Evelyn Laney Brown Hospice.
Beverly was united in marriage to Donald York in 1949. To this union two daughters were born, Barbara Faye and Debbie Lee. Debbie Lee preceded her in death in 1953. She was again married in 1954 to Donald Belew. From this union Ronda Kay and Rodney Ray were born.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, and her great-nephew, Dillon.
Survivors include daughter Barbra Johnson and her husband Kenneth of Naperville, Illinois; their two children Kelly and Ryan, his wife Michele and their son Tyler. Her daughter Ronda Strope and husband Leroy of Appleton City, Missouri; daughter Shelly Koehler, her husband Chris and their two children Brock and Sidney; son Adam Strope and his wife Amber who are expecting a son in June; daughter Erin Snyder and her husband Willy. Her son Rodney Belew and Barbara Belew of Appleton City, Missouri and their children Jamie and Tanner.
Survivors also include her brother Jim Eckhoff and his wife Myrna of Springfield, Missouri; their daughter Marzee and son Tad, his wife Karen and their daughter Michelle and her stepmother Wilma Eckhoff of Appleton City, Missouri.
Beverly was much loved by her family and many friends. She will be greatly missed.
