Betty Jeane (Baskerville) Pasley was born April 29, 1923 in the Bates County community of Hudson to Lucien and Lottie (Bailey) Baskerville. Betty's grandparents were founding citizens of the area and she grew up knowing all of the local families.

Betty attended the one room Hudson school and graduated from Appleton City High School in 1940. After high school Betty attended business school in Springfield, Missouri.

Betty married Glenn M. Pasley November 8th, 1941. They lived in Kansas City for several years before moving to the Baskerville family farm in 1950. Betty and Glen were blessed with three daughters, Patricia Jeane, Peggy Jane and Nancy Sue.

Betty worked for several years at Appleton City Citizens Bank and later for Yoss Grocery. She always remembered her customer's names and would greet them with a smile.

Betty made her church home at the First Christian Church of Appleton City. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age.

Betty was a social person and loved spending time with her nieces and nephews that would visit during the summer. Not a week would go by that her home was not filled with friends and family. They played card games, made Christmas candy or had summer canning parties. The grandchildren will always remember Betty teaching them card games, giving them advice and using her house as a stopover on the way home from ball games and trips home from college.

Betty will be missed by all who knew her. Her home was always open to family at any time and she was their closest friend and mentor.

Betty was preceded in death by, Glenn, her husband of 39 years, her parents and a special auntie Iona Wells. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Phillip and Patricia Bartz, Bob and Peggy Thomas and Robert and Nancy Tindall; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister Mary Jane Duensing; brother-in-law Dr. William Duensing; cousin Wright Bailey Piepmeier and wife Maxine; nieces, nephews and many friends.
