Anita L. Haines, daughter of Walker R. and Treecie M. (Gooden) Zickefoose, was born February 21, 1923 in Alton, West Virginia. Anita departed this life April 11, 2006 at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, Missouri at 83 years of age.
Anita was united in marriage to Lewis E. Marks in 1940 in Rockville, Maryland and to this union seven children were born. After Lewis' death she married Tony French. Following the death of Mr. French in the early 1990's Anita moved to Appleton City, Missouri. In 1995 she was married to Wayne Haines and they have enjoyed life together until the last two years when Anita's failing health forced her to move to Truman Lake Manor at Lowry City, Missouri for proper health care.
Anita was a caring wife and loving mother. Her life was filled with wonderful family times as well as hard work in raising her family. Even in the loss of her husbands, Anita kept safe in the knowledge that God would take care of them. She was a good cook and kept her home immaculate. She and Wayne enjoyed traveling and visiting their many family members. Anita transferred her membership to Trinity United Methodist Church some time after moving to Appleton City. She and Wayne attended faithfully until her health deteriorated and she became unable. Anita had a wonderful sense of humor but was often fooled by her many joke filled family members. She laughed easily and enjoyed family and friends visiting. She was a gracious hostess and a lovely lady. Her laughter and smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Preceding Anita in death were her parents, her first husband Lewis second husband Tony. Survivors include her husband Wayne of the home; seven children: Norma and husband Harold Beck of Stockton, Missouri, Janet Emmons of Findley, Ohio, Larry Marks and wife Debbie of Indianapolis, Indiana, Randy Marks and wife Carol of Jacksonville, Florida, Kevin Marks and wife Genny of Goshen, Indiana, Michael Marks and wife Belinda of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Robert Marks of Jacksonville, Florida; five brothers: Basil Zickefoose of Helena, Ohio, Sterling Zickefoose of Panama City, Florida, Lewis Zickefoose of Lake City, Florida, Donnie Zickefoose of Lawton, Oklahoma and Creed Zickefoose of Indianapolis, Indiana; two sisters, Christina Mayo of Sherman, Texas and Pam Joliet of Kissimmee, Florida; 19 grandchildren and step-grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
