VISITATION will be held at the funeral home
Thursday, April 11, 2013 from
7:00 - 8:00 p.m.

INTERMENT will be in the
Montrose Cemetery,
Montrose, Missouri

The family suggests any MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS be made to

Heartland Hospice (Butler).

Alice M. Hilte, daughter of Phillip and Ethel (Cowan) Carter was born May 12, 1921 in Henry County, Missouri. She passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at the age of 91.

Alice attended Lima School near LaDue, Missouri through 8th grade. She worked as a cleaning lady for families in Clinton and did some babysitting.

Alice was united in marriage to James M. Hilte in Clinton, Missouri on January 19, 1941 and they were blessed with two sons. She was baptized on March 18, 1956 by Pastor William H. Jones in the Cumberland-Presbyterian Church in Montrose, Missouri where she was also a member. She was an Elementary Sunday School teacher for many years.

Alice liked bowling and was on a league in Appleton City, Missouri until they closed, then she joined a league in Clinton, Missouri. She liked to garden, especially strawberries and tomatoes and she loved canning the produce she grew. She loved flowers of all kinds, with roses being her favorite. She also enjoyed baking.

Alice loved eating fish at Long John's Silver. One of the things she enjoyed most, was sitting outside in her swing with her neighbor, Ruth.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 67 years, James M. Hilte; and two sisters: Mary Briggs and Greta Batschelett.

Survivors include: two sons, John P. Hilte and wife, Linda of Montrose, Missouri and Jim Hilte and wife, Tammy of Appleton City, Missouri; grandchildren, Monty Hilte and wife, Mylissa of Montrose, Lonnie Hilte and wife, Paula of Montrose, Johnnie Hilte of Clinton, Missouri, Phillip Bergschneider and wife, Tracy of Deepwater, Missouri, Connie Cook and husband, Aaron of Montrose, Cody Hilte of Appleton City, Corey Hilte of Appleton City, Caitlin Hilte of Appleton City, Casey Hilte of Appleton City; sister, June Cowden and husband Bill of Jacksonville, Florida and brother, Phillip G. Carter and wife Beverly of Green Valley, Arizona.
