Alice D. (Taylor) Hardin, daughter of Walter and Ruth (Long) Taylor, was born September 5, 1934 in Butler, Missouri. She passed away June 27, 2012 in Clinton, Missouri at 77 years of age.

Alice grew up in the Appleton City/Ohio area. She was a graduate of Appleton City High class of 1952. She remained in contact with many lifelong friends from school.

Alice lived most of her life in the Appleton City area. She also resided in Maysville, Nevada and Montrose, Missouri as well as Overland Park, Kansas. She was a past president of the American Legion, and in later years served in their auxiliary Unit 0188. She worked at Safeway grocers in Overland Park, Kansas for a number of years. After being away, Alice returned to Appleton City in 1972 to make a life for her and her daughter Mylissa. She worked at Unitog in Clinton, Missouri and then at Bendix in Kansas City, Missouri for ten years and retired in 1991. She was a member of the Atomic Energy Lodge #314. After retiring she worked for Green Thumb in Appleton City and surrounding areas. She worked until she was 71 years old. She had many hobbies in life including gardening, planting flowers, counted cross stitch and crocheting. She loved to collect toothpick holders, Boyd's Bears and hummingbirds. She also was a member of the Rockville United Methodist Church. Her biggest joy in life was her grandson, Zackary. She enjoyed trying to keep up with him and spent many, many hours watching and laughing with him.

Alice was preceded in death by both of her parents. She is survived by her daughter Mylissa Hilte and husband Monty of Montrose, Missouri; her grandson Zackary Hilte; her sister Margaret Gerard of Appleton City, Missouri; four nieces Ruth Gould and husband Rick of Westpoint, Nebraska, Debbie Dines and husband Jerry of Appleton City, Missouri, Denise Gunja and husband Joe of Nixa, Missouri and Martha Cook and husband Rick of Appleton City, Missouri; eight great nieces and nephews Scott and Dusty Dines, Gina Peek, Ruthie Gould, Amanda Gould, Chris Gunja, Danny and Lindsey Cook; and two great-great nieces Hannah and Hailey Peek; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
